What is Artists Care Exchange?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Artists Care Exchange (ACE) is a training opportunity for professional artists with an interest and background in the arts and older people in a care context.<\/p>\n

How does it work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

ACE invites artist from diverse creative disciplines to participate. Artists from visual arts, dance, theatre, creative writing, music, circus, and multidisciplinary arts are welcome. ACE aims to foster collaboration and learning among artists in care settings, emphasising the exchange of knowledge, advice, and experiences.<\/p>\n

This opportunity provides a platform for six to eight dedicated professional artists working in care settings with older individuals to engage in a series of seven to eight collaborative sessions each focusing on them as a group. Each session comprises of input on a specific topic delivered by an expert and a chat session, with a specific focus on arts and ageing in care. There is also an online mentoring session, giving participants the opportunity to learn further from more experienced artists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How can I get involved?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
If you are a\u00a0professional artist\u00a0<\/b>who has an interest and background in the arts and older people (in a care context), and has your own practice, the\u00a0Artists Care Exchange (ACE)<\/b>\u00a0might be of interest to you.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
We\u00a0 encourage artists who have previously participated in our\u00a0Introduction to Arts, Health and the Older Person\u00a0programme to consider applying, as ACE provides a natural progression to further their understanding and skills for working in care settings.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n

If you have an arts background, but do not work as a professional artist or do not have previous experience working in a health context, the 2 day Age & Opportunity training initiative\u00a0Creative Exchanges<\/a><\/u><\/b>\u00a0<\/a>may be more suitable for you.<\/div>\n

We believe that, whether you are 8 or 80 years old, we all should have access and opportunities to attend and participate in the arts and to realise our creative potential. Fresh thinking, bold experimentation and creativity are all fundamental to delivering a high quality of life for older people<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

Research shows that arts programmes involving music, visual arts and drama, among other activities, have a profound influence on the quality of life of older people, with positive impacts on health, psychological well-being, confidence and autonomy as well as other benefits such as:<\/span><\/p>
